  Writer thinking

Are you a writer with a great sense of humor, an author with the ability to touch hearts, or someone who makes interesting observations about life and all its aspects? Maybe you're someone who wants to share knowledge and expertise about a hobby, finances, employment or just things in general? Are you struggling to find a way to get published so you can begin to build your own audience and fans? Then we have an awesome opportunity for you! Just submit your article or story to The Northern Star!

Writing a StoryThe Northern Star magazine not only celebrates cultural diversity, it also has a strong mandate to encourage literacy. We have had many emails from people asking if we would publish their work. At first we said no, but then we realized that we had a great opportunity to help "unknown" authors. Plus, we know how hard it can be to get someone to publish an unknown author, so, we've decided to give the work of unknown authors a chance for recognition, by publishing them online in The Northern Star's blog. Before you discount the value of this opportunity, you may want to consider that The Northern Star website is visited, and read, by people in over sixty countries around the world!

We will not just publish anyone, or any type of material. We are not a poetry or fantasy fiction site, so only submit material that is relevant to our publication and blog. See Writer Guidelines.

Typing a story on a computerAll articles/stories that are submitted and published on The Northern Star blog, will also be shared on The Northern Star's facebook page (we only just launched it a short time ago, it is still growing), so we encourage all authors to "Like" our facebook page at www.facebook.com/northernstarmagazine, so that you will know when your story has been published (we do not email authors when their stories are published), and to share it with family and friends for more exposure to your work and other authors works.

We also ask that a link to the The Northern Star website be posted on the author's website or blog, where applicable. This is a small way that you can "give back to us" for publishing your work.

NOTE: The Northern Star DOES NOT pay for materials submitted, that it chooses to publish. Instead, we provide authors with publicity, and a platform to make a name for themselves. Authors retain all rights to the work(s) they submit, however, once a submission is published on The Northern Star blog, The Northern Star retains the right to re-publish the submission on other sites, and or media, owned and operated by The Northern Star (facebook, in print, etc.).

The Northern Star never shares, sells, or donates any user information that we collect with anyone, anywhere outside of our company, at any time.

Before you submit your article/story, please view our Writer Guidelines and Terms of Submission.

Email your submission to editor@northernstar-online.com.

* Important: You MUST copy the following sentence that is red, and paste it into your email, so that we know you have read our Guidelines and Terms of Submission. This is required for EVERY submission sent to us. If this sentence is not in your email, we will not publish your article/story.

I have read and followed The Northern Star Writer Guidelines, and I have read, and agree to, The Northern Star Terms of Submission.

Include the following in your email along with your article/story:

Three to four line bio of yourself, that can be put at the bottom of your story/article.
